Bihar released its caste-based survey reports – Flaunt Post

The Bihar Government has released the cast census, giving a breakup of backward castes constituting about 27% while the extremely backward cast at 36%.
This means a total backward class population of 63 paves the way for a call for a national survey forecast and an increase in reservation, as well as OBC and economically backward class. So, extremely backward caste and backward class together are at 63. This is the first state to release a caste census and remember, the report has come amidst this entire challenge in the Supreme Court.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister has called the cast report historic. The BJP, as expected, has rejected this and called it a wash.
As far as the immediate ramification of Bihar politics is concerned, foreign states in the country have not only conducted caste-based surveys, but they have also released the data. This makes us recall that Telangana, Karnataka, and Odisha have also undertaken the caste-based survey, but no other states have released the data. So obviously, in the other states, now there will be a kind of pressure that they also release whatever data was collected sooner or later. Of course, the findings of their caste-based survey first part have been released because the socio-economic part of the survey report has not yet been released to put in public domains, but of course, the number of OBC and economically backward classes which is right now getting 27% of jobs as well as educational institution their number is 62%.

During the last parliamentary election, Narendra Modi came up with an EWS quota for the upper task, which is ten; in Bihar, 15% of the upper cast population, which also includes some castes from the Muslim community, are getting 10%, which is like 66% of the total.
So somewhere now, that demand will increase on the state government, and they also have to bring the OBC and EBC with the quota, which is being enjoyed by another upper caste in Bihar. The Patna High Court held up this cast survey, but later, it was heard in the Supreme Court, but the Supreme Court refused to entertain the petitioner’s demand or stay on the release of this caste-based survey.
