Meet Anoushka Sinha, who impacted the lives of many underprivileged – UNICEF Youth Advisor- Flaunt post

Published

on

UNICEF youth advisor Anoushka Sinha, 21 years old and the youngest United Nations Gender Equality Advocate UNDP ambassador, has contributed to the welfare of the underprivileged, especially the girls, and uplifting gender equality.
She belongs to a deeply rooted patriarchal community that has always seen women as being meant for doing household work and not getting access to much education.

Her father and mother are her major backbone who supported Anoushka constantly to help others from a very young age, though her father passed away when she was 18. Also, it was a major turning point in her life when she experienced how society, even the family members, deprived women of a man’s support. Her mother is an ideal who inspires her to speak for herself and others without any fear and and who also motivates her at every stage of her life to do whatever she feels like without any hesitation. It’s true that ‘behind every strong woman is a stronger woman’.

Anoushka, at the age of 10, started teaching underprivileged students, especially girls, and today, she has helped more than 5,000 children get access to education. She was a radio jockey at the age of 12, working for five radio stations,
She is also the youngest member of the Royal Society of Arts from her country. She is originally from Agra, India, and lives in Toronto, Canada. Furthermore, she deeply promotes education for each and every child, no matter her age, caste class, and financial background. She works on various sustainable developmental goals, ensuring gender equality and education for all.

Anoushka believes that kindness and empathy is the thing that can change the world, and each one of us should practice that. There is very little empathy and kindness found in people in present times. She also advises individuals to “lose the fear of fearing,” as until the fear of being unheard or rejected is there in your mind, you will not be able to achieve anything and put forward your voice
.She says one needs to speak and express one’s opinion independently.
Anoushka believes no one is born on earth without a purpose. Similarly, she also has a purpose to uplift the unheard and make them capable of achieving milestones in various segments of life. For children who have never heard the name of school and never knew what education looks like and how it can change our lives, Anoushka has helped such children to become capable of achieving whatever they want and educating others, too.

Anoushka closely worked on changing the notion of society and uplifting girls to reach horizons with flying colors and make girls strong, independent, and bold.
She has also been awarded the Diana Award and is one of the top 30 social innovators from UNDP youth co. Apart from these, there are many more areas where she has been awarded for her work. She faced a lot of ups and downs during her journey as an activist as people were still unwilling to send their girl child for higher studies; even her relatives told her to drop this idea of activism. So, for her, it was not easy, but her constant efforts and hard work count for all. She always treated her failures as learning experiences and motivated herself to improve.

Anoushka has made an outstanding contribution to society very selflessly and is a true inspiration to all the girls worldwide. She always motivates girls to stay strong and courageous and follow their passion without fear. There will be countless barriers in this patriarchal society, but she always encourages girls to let them overrule their aspirations.

Anoushka Sinha is indeed a true inspiration to all the youth and girls to become their voice, and education is the strongest weapon in this journey. The world needs more girls like Anushka Sinha, who dares to speak for herself as well as for the rights of others. She has indeed proven that age is just a number. Whether it comes to being too young or old, you can achieve anything if you have the willpower and enthusiasm to do something and make a remarkable mark in society by which others get inspired and encourage others by spreading awareness and working integrated for the welfare of all. She has greatly impacted the entire youth and is a pride of the country.

Andie MacDowell Opens Up About Rejecting Hollywood’s Unrealistic Standards

Published

on

Andie MacDowell is embracing comfort and self-acceptance, especially when it comes to Hollywood’s beauty standards.

During L’Oréal Paris’ Women of Worth Celebration on Nov. 21, the 66-year-old actress reflected on a recent experience that made her reevaluate the pressures she has faced.

“I did a fitting, and the dress was really tight around my waist. It looked so good, but I woke up knowing it wasn’t the right thing for me,” she shared. “Of course, I immediately shamed myself for not being able to fit into this dress. But that’s Hollywood — this expectation to be something you can no longer be. I’m too old to starve myself for 5 pounds nonstop. I just can’t do it anymore.”

MacDowell noted that societal and industry expectations often push unattainable ideals, a reality she sees reflected in her work and personal life. “I used to live in Montana. When I’m at home, I feel skinny. It’s only when I come out here that I feel like the bar is raised so high, and the expectations are beyond anything anybody can accomplish unless you’re completely devoted to being skinny.”

She expressed a newfound perspective on her priorities: “I want to learn about birds, walk on the beach, be smart, and read books. I’d rather have the 5 pounds on me and wear something that fits than starve myself just to fit into clothes.”

The Way Home star also touched on the broader impact of these societal pressures, recounting a personal story about her grandniece, who struggled with anorexia at the age of 12. “It’s all from expectations she sees on social media and in the world. It was a really hard battle for her. She’s doing fantastic now, but we can’t keep pushing these expectations on people.”

MacDowell’s candid reflections are a reminder of the importance of self-love and rejecting unattainable standards.

The holiday season is a time for family, tradition, and gratitude—something Meghan Markle says she cherishes more with each passing year.

In a recent interview with Marie Claire, the Duchess of Sussex shared insights about celebrating holidays with Prince Harry and their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. “Every year it gets better,” Meghan revealed, emphasizing how the magic of traditions evolves as her kids grow.

“At first, you’re just enjoying having them there, even if they don’t fully grasp what’s happening,” Meghan explained. “Now, I can’t wait to see it through their eyes every year.”

For Thanksgiving, Meghan described their approach as “low-key” but deeply meaningful, often sharing their table with friends, including her mother, Doria Ragland, and even icons like Gloria Steinem, who joined the family last year.

For Christmas, the family adds whimsical touches, like leaving “carrots for the reindeer.” Meghan hopes to instill lasting memories in her children through recipes and traditions they can carry into adulthood.

Beyond family celebrations, Meghan is also focused on giving back. Through the Archewell Foundation’s Welcome Project, the Duchess recently hosted a dinner for Afghan women rebuilding their lives in the U.S. Speaking at the event, she highlighted the emotional challenges of displacement and the importance of fostering a sense of belonging.

“These moments of togetherness remind people their life isn’t ending—it’s a new chapter,” Meghan said, reflecting on the resilience of the women involved.

As for helping others feel welcome during the holidays, Meghan kept it simple: “Just think about how you’d want someone to treat you.”

From personal traditions to acts of service, Meghan Markle continues to champion family, community, and the power of connection this holiday season.
