Two Syrian Facilities Strikes by US – Flaunt Post
The US carried out airstrikes targeting two installations linked to Iranian-backed regulars in eastern Syria on Thursday, according to a statement from Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, following a series of drone and attacks via rockets in the region where US forces were present.
The statement said the installations have been used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps( IRGC) and combined groups.
The strikes, carried out by a brace of F-16 fighter spurts using perfection-guided munitions, targeted a munitions and security storehouse installation in Abu Kamal near the border between Syria and Iraq. Austin described the strikes, which were ordered by President Joe Biden, as “ hardly acclimatized in tone- defense ” and emphasized they’re separate from the ongoing conflict in Gaza. He directly indicted Iran of having a part in the attacks on US forces, saying in the statement, “ Iran wants to hide its hand and deny its part in these attacks against our forces. The two installations targeted by US airstrikes in eastern Syria had been preliminarily enthralled by members of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and combined host groups, an elderly military functionary said. However, it’s still unclear if the strikes resulted in any casualties.
“ We know that there were people on the target at colorful points during the day, ” said the functionary during a briefing with journalists following the attack. “ Again, we know they weren’t civilians, ” the functionary added.
But it would take further time to establish a more precise figure on how numerous were killed in the strike, if any, the functionary said.
An elderly defense functionary called Iran “ the center of graveness ” for the attacks on US forces in the region, saying that “ Iranian fingerprints are each over this. ”
“ Tehran and Iranian elderly leaders are funding, arming, equipping, training, and directing a whole plethora of host groups across the region, and they’ve escalated attacks against US forces since October 17, which is why we took tone-defense action tonight, ” the functionary said.
